GREEN BAY – Don’t look now, but it’s an announcement for a national touring act, and no, it’s not a rescheduled or a re-rescheduled date sidelined by the pandemic.
This one is fresh.
Food Network star, celebrity chef and food scientist Alton Brown is hitting the road this fall with his “Alton Brown Live: Beyond the Eats” tour and will be whipping up some fun at the Weidner Center at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14. Green Bay is the second stop on a 24-city tour that also includes a visit to the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee the following night.
Brown’s new culinary variety show will serve up comedy, music, unusual cooking demos, audience participation and “potentially dangerous sciencey stuff.”
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for $63.50 orchestra and $48.50 mezzanine and balcony. VIP tickets are $128.50. They’ll be available through Ticket Star at 920-494-3401, ticketstaronline.com and the Resch Center box office.
Brown performed at the Weidner Center in 2017 and 2015. Both times he was in town he asked readers for suggestions for good local eats. He made stops at Al’s Hamburgers and Nectar in 2017 and Kroll’s West, The Attic, Kavarna and Titletown Brewing Co. in 2015.
New episodes of “Good Eats: The Return” started streaming last month on discovery+. The show previously ran for 13 years on the Food Network.
