Illegal nightclub on Tolar Street raided in Fayetteville

An illegal nightclub on Tolar Street was raided in Fayetteville earlier this week, resulting in multiple citations and the seizure of liquor, a news release from North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement said Wednesday.

A search warrant was served Monday on a warehouse off Southern Avenue at 237 Tolar St., where officials say the illegal nightclub was located, the release said.

The raid resulted in 10 people being cited on 20 alcohol-related charges and the seizure of a large amount of liquor.

Fayetteville Police Chief Gina Hawkins said in the release that raids such as this are important in curtailing violence in the community. 

“The importance of partnerships to address illegal criminal activity is a major strategy used to keep our community safe,” Hawkins said. “We have seen events like this turn into violence quickly, and utilizing all resources available in our area shows the strength of our community.”
