Orange County deputies were investigating a shooting incident at a gentleman’s club when they were shot at by an armed suspect, wounding a security guard at the club.Authorities say were on scene at the Le Palace Night Club on South Orange Blossom Trail.According to officials, deputies were called by a security guard after Wesley Mitchell got drunk and fired shots into the air at the club around midnight.While deputies were investigating, Mitchell is accused of opening fire on the security guard and deputies who were standing in the parking lot. Investigators say Mitchell then drove down the road, smashed into a car then got out and shot all of those who were inside the vehicle.The 30-year-old security officer sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was taken to a hospital where he is stable, officials said. No deputies were injured. Those victims were all taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and are in stable condition, according to investigators.Mitchell is facing charges of attempted murder as well as attempted murder on a law enforcement officer.The investigation is ongoing.
